THE ASK: To create an identity, branding, and packaging system for the olive oil company, Olivier Sauvage (Wild Olive in english), that reflects the traditional family values of the company, the history of olive oil, and the "wild" origins of the company.
THE SOLUTION: Create an olive oil motif from actual wild olives I picked off of a tree by my dorm room in France. The motif makes it appear that one is surrounded by olive branches, in the thick of an olive tree. The pattern is used in all of the material to create a cohesive look across all products. The idea of an olive tree was taken one step further, by mimicking the twisting trunk of an olive oil tree with the winding label on the olive oil bottle. Lastly the logo mark is a stylized version of an olive while doubling as an "O" from the name Olivier.

It took several tries to get the length, width, placement, and paper type for the label just right. This was probably the biggest challenge I faced during this project. It took some trial and error to figure out the best starting point for the label at the top of the bottle. Each changed placement effected how the label sat on the bottle and in turn where the rest of the body copy was placed.
